Install AskCc, complete the shared interview profile, and start your first live interview.
What do I need to complete before my first interview?
Section titled “What do I need to complete before my first interview?”Install the desktop app, check audio and permissions, complete the shared interview profile with an interview language/resume/job description, and start from the right-side Interview Entry.

Download and install AskCc
Open the download page and choose the installer for your device.
Choose Apple silicon or Intel to match your Mac. Open the
.dmg, drag AskCc into Applications, and launch it.Download the Windows x64 installer, run the
.exe, and follow the installer prompts. -
Check audio devices and system permissions
In Settings → Audio & Permissions, choose your microphone and the system output used by the meeting app. Start both tests and confirm that each meter responds.
On macOS, grant microphone, screen recording, and system audio permissions. You may skip the first-run guide, but every interview must pass the capture check before it starts.

Complete the shared interview profile
From Home, start a standalone preparation conversation or choose a Project linked to a local folder. Describe the target role, company, interview type, and date, then upload or paste the first materials. All conversations read and update the same interview profile; a Project does not create another profile.
Example:
I am preparing for an algorithm engineer interview next week. Here is my resume; I will add the full JD later. -
Complete the three required items
- Interview language
- Resume
- Job description (JD)
If the full JD is unavailable, paste the job page or provide a target-role requirements summary, then confirm that it is saved as the job description before starting.

Complete the optional preparation you need
Ask AskCc to polish resume bullets, organize project follow-ups, save answer preferences, select a personal knowledge base or official question bank, and draft skill profiles from project evidence. When candidate-owned facts are missing, AskCc should ask instead of inventing them.

Start from Interview Entry
Open the right-side Interview Entry, click Start Interview, and choose Meeting app interview or Anti-screen-switch detection. A chat message does not start the interview.

Verify the overlay
Confirm that interviewer transcripts update and the answer panel is visible. Auto answer is on by default. Use Ctrl+Alt+A for the latest question or Ctrl+Alt+S when the question depends on the screen.
How do I know the setup is ready?
Section titled “How do I know the setup is ready?”Before the real interview, confirm:
- the right-side preparation panel shows a language, resume, and job description;
- both the microphone and system audio tests show activity;
- the preflight check reports no capture or permission errors;
- shortcuts do not conflict with another app, or have been rebound;
- a short mock session produces transcripts and answers.
